Day 2 - The Lakeshore

Cross the street and take an incredible journey on the Pictured Rocks Boat Cruise. Stop into the gift shop for a gift for Aunt Jane. You may also take the Sunset cruise. City Docks, 906-387-2115

Take a drive and experience the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore or rent a kayak and glide in and out of the rock formations. There are plenty of hikes and photo opportunities along the way.

Are you here over the Fourth of July? Nothing beats the Munising festivities. A fun filled day of Parades, both human and pet, a carnival down at the Bay Shore. Get drenched at the famous Fire department water fights. Watch as the firemen split into to groups and literally see who can withstand the full force of a loaded fire hose.
Finally, throw a blanket down on the grass of the Bay Shore, relax and enjoy the spectacular fireworks display. You will feel like you are part of the show.
Day 3 - Grand Island
Wake up before any one else listen for the loons as you sift through the new assortment of rocks and agates wished up along the shore line.
Visit to the Munising Bakery for a stiff cup of coffee and a delicious home made breakfast or doughnut. 115 W. Superior Street, 906-387-2148
Grand Island via the Grand Island Ferry service. Grand Island is rich in history and home to two unique Lighthouses. Grand Island Landing, 906-387-3503
Remember to bring your binoculars. Grand Island and Alger County are the summer homes of Sand Hill Cranes and King Fishers. Check them off you Audubon list of birds to see.
Dive down to the see the shipwrecks in the Alger Preserve. Get close to any of the three ships whose journeys were cut short by the mighty Lake Superior.

The afternoon should be spent visiting all of Munising’s lovely Antique, Craft or Gift Shops. This is a great opportunity to stock up on unique birthday and holiday gifts that you can't find anywhere else.
