It's time to check into your hotel of choice. Drop off your bags and immediately head for the hot tub. Your legs and feet will thank you.
Day 2 - The Extremes
Start you day with a great cup of coffee from the Falling Rock Bookstore and Café. They have delicious pastry treats. 104 E. Munising Ave., 906-387-3008
Experience ice climbing. The first weekend in February, climbers from all over the world converge to climb the ice coating on the Grand Island cliffs. Bring your binoculars and head down to Sand Point for the best view.

Grab a trail map from Madigan's hardware, hop onto you snowmobile and GO! Trails can be accessed from town or most of the area hotels. Fill up your tank at the Melstrand General Store if you are heading that way and on the way back stop off at the Bear Trap Inn for dinner and grill your own steak just the way you like it. Head to downtown Munising, Elm Street, and visit locally owned Putvin's Drug Store. They have all of your camera needs. 119 Elm Street, 906-387-2248
Walk a block down to the Log Jam and have a glass of whatever makes you happy. 127 E. Superior St., 906-387-3737
Back at your room, lay your head down on you comfortable pillow and think of all of the fun you had today. And there is more tomorrow.
Day 3 - Only in the U.P.
Wake up and head over to the UP Sled Dog Association races. See the Midnight Run finishers in Wetmore. Meet the mushers and the dogs. www.up200.org
Visit the Munising Bakery for a cup of coffee and a delicious home made breakfast or doughnut. 115 W. Superior St., 906-387-2148
Head over to Trenary in February, for a most unusual race. The Annual Outhouse race. Yep, we push the loo with all of our might right down the village street.
The afternoon should be spent visiting all of Munising's lovely Antique, Craft or Gift Shops. This is a great opportunity to stock up on unique birthday and holiday gifts that you can’t find anywhere else.
If you prefer, take the kids to the Bayshore Park to build a family of snowmen. The snow is provided gratis.
One last dinner….unless you change your mind and want to stay, because there is still more to do around Munising Bay.
